LG G7 ThinQ+

The LG G7+ ThinQ is LG‘s new flagship that was unveiled way back in May as a successor to the last year’s LG G6+. The smartphone then went on sale in certain markets starting from June. Now, after three months of the US announcement, the South Korean giant has now launched the LG G7+ ThinQ in India.

The device gets the G7+ branding due to the fact that it is the top-end variant of the G7 ThinQ and comes with 6GB RAM/128GB configuration in India. Whereas the ThinQ branding is inherited from the LG V30 ThinQ launched back in MWC 2018 which basically denotes the AI capabilities of the phone.

Similar to other 2018 flagships, the G7+ ThinQ too comes with a metal frame and a glass back design based on MIL-STD 810G standards. The device houses the fingerprint scanner at the back and comes with a dedicated button to trigger Google Assistant. Additionally, it also features the IP68 rating for dust and water resistance.

The LG G7+ ThinQ sports a 6.1-inch Quad HD+ (3120×1440) FullView “Super Bright” IPS LCD display with a Notch resulting in a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The display has 100 per cent DCI-P3 colour gamut coverage and the brightness maxes out at 1,000nits. LG claims it to be 30% more efficient than the LG G6’s display.

Under the hood, the phone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC, coupled with 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of onboard storage.

In the optics department, the LG G7+ ThinQ features a 16-megapixel primary sensor with a 71-degree field-of-view and a f/1.6 aperture paired with a 16-megapixel wide-angle shooter with a 107-degree field-of-view and a f/1.9 aperture, at the back. At the front, we have an 8-megapixel sensor with a f/1.9 aperture lens and support for Face Unlock. Both the cameras are equipped with AI Cam feature for smart scene detection, portrait mode and a “Super Bright Camera” mode for brighter low light shots.

The smartphone also comes with 7.1-channel DTS:3D Surround Sound support along with a Boombox speaker for amplification of the bass and a Hi-Fi Quad DAC like every other LG flagship.

It runs on LG UX 6.0 based on Android 8.0 Oreo and is backed by a 3,000 mAh battery. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, GPS and an USB Type-C port .

The LG G7+ is priced at Rs 39,990 in India and will go on sale exclusively via Flipkart starting from August 10.

Also, the Charge Turbo has also been certified by TÜV for safety.
