Chinese electronics giant Lenovo has launched their latest smartphone, the Lenovo S5 Pro GT at an event today in China. The S5 Pro GT comes amidst falling market share of Lenovo in the worldwide smartphone market. It is placed in the lower mid-range segment. Apart from the S5 Pro GT, three other smartphones were launched in the event, the Lenovo S5 Pro, the Lenovo Z5s and the Lenovo Z5 Pro GT.
The Lenovo S5 Pro GT comes as an advanced version of the Lenovo S5 Pro which was launched earlier this year. While the S5 Pro is powered by a Snapdragon 636, the S5 Pro GT comes with a Snapdragon 660 under the hood. All the other specifications of the S5 Pro GT and S5 Pro are similar. The S5 Pro GT comes in three variants. 4GB RAM and 64GB internal, 6GB RAM and 64GB storage and 6GB RAM and 128GB storage, priced at 1,198 Yuan( Rs.12,264), 1,298 Yuan( Rs.13,288) and 1,498 Yuan( Rs.15,335) respectively.
It has a metal frame with glass at the front and the back, giving it a premium look. In the display department, it sports a notched 6.2 inch FHD+ IPS LCD display. While the display is what is seen normally in a mid range device, what makes the Lenovo S5 Pro GT standout is it’s cameras. Usually in mid-range smartphones with dual camera setup, one camera is of higher resolution, while the other will be of a lower resolution. But this is not the case with the Lenovo S5 GT Pro. It comes with a 20MP + 8MP dual camera setup in the front and a 20MP + 12MP configuration in the rear.
The Lenovo S5 Pro GT will be running on Android 8.1 Oreo with Lenovo’s custom skin on top of it. It draws power from a 3500mAh battery and supports 18W fast charging. Lenovo has not mentioned whether it comes with a micro USB port or USB Type – C port. Also, there is no information yet regarding the international launch of the Lenovo S5 Pro GT.
