Lava unveils Design in India initiative, Plans to Launch the First Phone by October 2018.

The Indian mobile brand Lava has launched its “Design in India” initiative this Tuesday and has also announced its first device which has been completely designed and manufactured in India which is the Prime X.

This device is priced at Rs.1,499 and the best thing is that Lava claims that this device has a standby battery up to 17 days. Moreover, Lava is also offering a 2-year replacement warranty, and the device will be officially launched in October 2018.

“The Design in India initiative is one of the most significant milestones towards achieving our country’s vision of making India a global hub for mobile phone manufacturing,”

said Hari Om Rai, Chairman of Lava international.

“Our approach has led to setting up of 108 mobile manufacturing units in the country in the last three years. ‘Design in India’ is a key milestone in that direction,”

said the union law minister Ravi Shankar Prasad.

As Lava is launching their first designed in India smartphone by October 2018, it is also expected that they will also be manufacturing there entire range of mobiles by 2020. The Union minister, Manoj Sinha also said that the government has set a target to create 100 million jobs by the year 2022.

He also said that:

“Initiatives like ‘Make in India’ and ‘Design in India’ will play a vital role in creating jobs for a young and large country like ours,”

Back then in the year 2016 Lava has initiated their design center in Noida, and now they have launched their first mobile which has been designed in India.
