Huawei P30 Pro could be featuring the upcoming 38MP Sony IMX607 Sensor!

Published

on

Huawei is one of the innovative manufactures when it comes to smartphone photography. The Chinese manufacturer was the one to debut the triple camera setup in the P20 Pro smartphones earlier this year. Now according to a new report, the company’s upcoming Huawei P30 flagship may sport the Sony IMX607 sensor that is expected to be unveiled soon.

The source of the leak was a Weibo user who found the information on the sensor with 38MP resolution and is quite an upgrade over the primary IMX600 sensor on the processor Huawei P20 Pro. The white paper for the Sony IMX607 sensor reveals that it has 1/1.8” sensor and comes with a Dual Bayer technology instead of the Quad Bayer which helped in crisp photography in the past phones. The upcoming Sony sensor is not completely dependent on RGB pixels while a new addition comes in the form of a white pixel array.

In the Quad Bayer Technology of P20 Pro, two pixels were used for short exposure and the two other for long exposure which provided the cameras with a enhanced dynamic range. The new Dual Bayer technology will be not much different using the white pixels for the same purpose, but allow more light and details even in low light environments.

The Sony IMX607 is also speculated to come with quad-pixel phase detection auto-focus (PDAF) for enhanced auto-focus, high pixel binning function that allows capturing more details along with an in-built temperature sensor as well. The camera will also work well with the AI technology on the Huawei P30 Pro.

The report certainly proves the Sony IMX607 deserves be the primary camera on the Huawei P30 Pro. However, the company is yet to announce it officially so we suggest you to take this news with a pinch of salt before jumping into any conclusions.

Recently LG has announced their upcoming smartphone series, named as the W series. However, LG didn’t say how many smartphones it will launch under this series. At present, it is speculated that there are at least two phones being prepared, and the live video of one among it, the LG W10 has been leaked online.

According to reports, the W10 is the base model of the W series. The leaked image reveals that the W10 will be having a curvy design, unlike the flat design as claimed by an earlier rumor. The fit and finish of the back panel suggest that the back panel might be made of metal, instead of glass. In the image, we can see that the back panel has a glossy finish.

The rear camera setup is mounted vertically, and we can only see the flash which is placed at the bottom, in the leaked image. However, the height of the camera mounting suggests that it will be spotting a dual camera setup. As we can see in the image, the LG W10 also has a fingerprint sensor which is mounted in the rear, at the traditional position.

The model in the leaked image is shown sporting a purple color which is rare for LG smartphones, and also doesn’t have a gradient color finish. Apart from that, there is a 3.4mm audio jack at one side of the USB port, and on the other side, we have the speaker.

It is reported that the LG W10 will be priced at around $214 (RS.15,000). The other smartphones on the W series might be named as W20 and W30, according to some reports. As of now, LG has released no official statement about neither the leaked images nor the launch date and specifications of the W10.

A Radically Different Set of Pixel 4 Renders Shows very iPhone-esque Design!

Published

By

A month ago Google launched the budget-friendly offering of their flagship pixel series, the Pixel 3a &3a XL in Google I/O 2019 held at California. Apparently, now all eyes are on their upcoming flagship, the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL. According to the latest reports, the schematics of these upcoming Pixel smartphones have been leaked online. However, since the renders are based on prototypes, there might be changes in the original product.

Looking at the leaked renders, the first thing that will come to our mind is the unusually large square camera bump similar to that on the leaked renders of Apple iPhone XI, and the absence of a physical fingerprint sensor. The large size of the camera bump indicates that there will be multiple cameras in the rear. Guessing from the size of the square, we are expecting a triple camera setup in the rear, for the least. The Pixel smartphones are known for their camera performance, and looking at the render it seems Google will be stepping up its game in the camera segment.

The missing fingerprint sensors in the leaked render indicates that Google might skip the physical sensor for either an in-display fingerprint sensor or 3D face-unlock. There are also chances that the new Pixel devices will be coming with both the before mentioned unlocking features.

In the render, the earpiece is placed on top of the screen, which indicates that Google might retain the notch. Coming to other details, there are two speaker grills on both sides of the USB Type-C port, which means that the upcoming Pixel 4 smartphones will be ditching the front facing speaker design. The volume and power button is placed at the right edge while the left edge is bare. Also, there is no 3.4mm audio jack according to the render.

While there isn’t much information available about the specs of the upcoming Pixel 4 and Pixel 4XL, some reports suggest that it will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC. Google usually launches their flagships in October and it is expected that they will be doing the same with the Pixel 4 too.
