Huawei P30 Pro could be featuring the upcoming 38MP Sony IMX607 Sensor!

Published

Huawei is one of the innovative manufactures when it comes to smartphone photography. The Chinese manufacturer was the one to debut the triple camera setup in the P20 Pro smartphones earlier this year. Now according to a new report, the company’s upcoming Huawei P30 flagship may sport the Sony IMX607 sensor that is expected to be unveiled soon.

The source of the leak was a Weibo user who found the information on the sensor with 38MP resolution and is quite an upgrade over the primary IMX600 sensor on the processor Huawei P20 Pro. The white paper for the Sony IMX607 sensor reveals that it has 1/1.8” sensor and comes with a Dual Bayer technology instead of the Quad Bayer which helped in crisp photography in the past phones. The upcoming Sony sensor is not completely dependent on RGB pixels while a new addition comes in the form of a white pixel array.

In the Quad Bayer Technology of P20 Pro, two pixels were used for short exposure and the two other for long exposure which provided the cameras with a enhanced dynamic range. The new Dual Bayer technology will be not much different using the white pixels for the same purpose, but allow more light and details even in low light environments.

The Sony IMX607 is also speculated to come with quad-pixel phase detection auto-focus (PDAF) for enhanced auto-focus, high pixel binning function that allows capturing more details along with an in-built temperature sensor as well. The camera will also work well with the AI technology on the Huawei P30 Pro.

The report certainly proves the Sony IMX607 deserves be the primary camera on the Huawei P30 Pro. However, the company is yet to announce it officially so we suggest you to take this news with a pinch of salt before jumping into any conclusions.

Oppo Reno2 With Quad Camera To Launch In India First, Camera Details Revealed!

Published

on

Oppo Reno is the latest flagship phone lineup from Oppo. After the first from the lineup, Oppo Reno was launched, it created a huge buzz in the smartphone users community. Just at the starting of this month, we came to know that Oppo is working on the next Reno, and also, we came to know that the phone will launch first in India. Today, more details have emerged and this time, the info we have right now is official.

However, at that time nothing was official. But today, Oppo has officially teased the next phone from Oppo Reno lineup. The phone is named Oppo Reno2, which is a bit of surprise as Oppo is named their phones in quite a complex way. Anyway, the Oppo Reno2 will be launched first in India, as speculated on August 28.

This is quite a big step for a brand like Oppo and this somehow indicates that the company is willing to trade on dangerous grounds by introducing flagship phones first in India. Here’s the teaser, in case you haven’t seen it yet.

The company, in the teaser, mentioned a thing or two about the special features of the phone. Oppo Reno2 will come with quad-camera setup on the back and will have 20x zoom. This is a huge leap from the current Oppo Reno smartphone, which has a 10x zoom. However, there is no word regarding what kind of technologies the company is using on the phone or which camera sensor is being used on Oppo Reno2.

But well, the official teaser wasn’t enough for smartphone enthusiasts it seems. An account by the name Fengchao Technology on Weibo, posted on China’s Facebook that the Oppo Reno2 will have a  48-megapixel primary camera. Along with it, there will be a 13-megapixel telephoto lens, which will offer a 20x zoom. He suggested that there will be an 8-megapixel super wide-angle lens and there will be a 2-megapixel monochrome sensor. The 2-megapixel monochrome sensor is something pretty uncommon on smartphones.

Also, just now it has been brought to our notice that a new Oppo device bearing the PCKM70 model number has passed through China’s Compulsory Certification Agency (CCC). The listing reveals that the phone comes with Oppo’s proprietary VOOC 3.0 for 20W fast charging and supports 5G connectivity. As of now, as flagship phones are the only ones getting 5G support, so it won’t be surprising if Oppo Reno2 supports 5G as well or if Oppo brings a separate 5G variant of Oppo Reno2. However, as these are unofficial pieces of info from different sources, I would advise you to take it with a pinch of salt. Realme is all set to launch the Realme 5 series smartphones on August 20. The Realme 5 series consists of the Realme 5 and the Realme 5 Pro and will go on sale via Flipkart. Ahead of the official launch, a Geekbench listing has revealed some of the key tech specs of one of the devices.

The device is marked as ‘realme RMX 1911’ and doesn’t reveal the exact identity. It is expected to arrive as the Realme 5. The device was also recently certified in Thailand and Malaysia, paving a way for its launch in these regions. In the Geekbench listing, it performed along the expected line for a phone in its class managing a score of 1525 and 5498 points in the single-core and multi-core tests respectively.

The listing further reveals that the handset will be powered by a chipset nicknamed ‘trinket’ which is the same processor for devices like Xiaomi Mi A3 and the Mi CC9e. They are powered by the Snapdragon 665 and if the listing is genuine, it would be safe to assume that the Realme 5 will house the same chipset. It will be paired with 4GB RAM and run Android 9 Pie out-of-the-box.

The other specs of the Realme 5 are yet to be revealed. However, the Flipkart teaser and the company itself confirmed that it will ship with a quad-camera setup on the rear. Earlier this week, it was reported that Realme will be launching Realme 5 series including the Realme 5 and the Realme 5 Pro in India on August 20. Now, the report has been confirmed as Flipkart has started teasing the launch of the Realme 5 series on the said date. The teaser also confirms that the two smartphones will be available for purchase via Flipkart after the launch.

The Flipkart teaser has revealed a couple of details about the upcoming Realme 5 series. The Realme 5 and the Realme 5 Pro is revealed to come with quad rear cameras. As per the teaser, it will feature a primary, ultra-wide, super-macro and portrait lens. The primary lens will come with a large aperture and pixel size for low-light photography, the ultra-wide will be able to capture a 119-degree field of view, the Super Macro for capturing close-up images while the fourth depth sensor will help in portrait shots.

The exact camera specifications along with the pricing of the Realme 5 and the Realme 5 Pro are yet to be revealed. The smartphones are successors to the Realme 3 and the Realme 3 Pro respectively which were launched in India earlier this year. Like other manufacturers like OnePlus, Realme is skipping number 4 and jumping number 5 as number 4 is considered an unlucky number in the Chinese culture.

The Chinese manufacturer is expected to unveil the Realme X Pro which houses a quad-camera 64MP sensor. The phone is said to be announced before Diwali and not on August 20. All future Realme smartphones will now have a quad-camera setup. This includes all the upcoming smartphones under Realme X series, Realme Pro series, and Realme series. Other manufacturers like Redmi and Vivo better have something up on their sleeves to keep up.
