Huawei is doing great with their P and Mate series flagships, additionally, they also have Nova as their budget oriented series due to the fact that their main focus is on youth. Last year, we saw the Huawei Nova 2i which came as Honor 9i in India and recently, they launched the 3rd gen Huawei Nove 3e, also known as Huawei P20 Lite. Now, it seems that Huawei is gearing up for the launch of the original Nova 3.
The Huawei Nova 3 will be launched this July and will be powered by new Kirin 710 chipset which is yet to be announced officially. The Kirin 710 will be the successor to the existing midrange chipset Kirin 659 and will offer major improvements to take over the budget chipsets from Qualcomm. Huawei is also said to be working on the upcoming Kirin 980 and the Kirin 1020 which will be the next flagship chipsets.
The Kirin 710 will directly compete with Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 710 chipset which debuted with the recently launched Mi 8 SE and the Vivo Nex A. The Kirin 710 will use 12nm process node from TSMC and the CPU performance is said to be on-par with the Kirin 960 which was seen on Honor 8 Pro. The GPU performance, on the other hand, will be similar to Kirin 970 which is equipped with Mali -G72 MP12 GPU. Additionally, the SoC may feature a dedicated NPU for performing AI related tasks. The Turbo GPU feature will be added as well which first arrived with the Honor Play gaming smartphone and is claimed to increase overall GPU performance by 60% and reduce the SoC power consumption by 30%.
Coming to the Cameras, Nova 3 is expected to have Quad Cameras consisting of a 20MP+16MP dual rear camera combo at the rear, and a 20MP+2MP camera setup at the front, enhanced with smart AI based Scene detection and smart beautification.
The device will come with a compact glass sandwich design including a 6-inch Full HD+ display with a Notch on top and an aspect ratio of 19:5:9. All this will be backed by a 3340mAh battery with the support for 18W quick charging.
The Nova 3 seems to be a lot similar to the Nova 3e except for the chipset and Camera upgrades. The device will be released in July. We will keep you updated with further info on the same, Stay tuned.
