Huawei Mate 20

The Chinese giant Huawei was supposed to launch three contenders in its upcoming Mate series, including the Huawei Mate 20, Mate 20 Pro and the Mate 20 Lite that was recently leaked in press renders. We might also see a Mate 20 Porsche edition with some unique features like the last year’s Mate RS Porsche edition that came with an in-display fingerprint scanner. Today, Huawei’s Consumer Business Group (CBG) CEO Richard Yu has affirmed that the Mate 20 series will be launched in October, in his press release.

The press release sent by Huawei to the African media states that the Huawei Mate 20 will be coming in October with Kirin 980 SoC built at its core, and is claimed to be the worlds first 7nm chipset in the same, which will boost performance by 20 per cent while improving battery efficiency by 40 per cent.

Furthermore, the new chipset will be touting eight CPU cores out of which four are powerful A76 cores with maximum clock speeds of 2.8GHz and four are power efficient A55 cores. The chipset seems really promising given that it scored impressive 3,50,000+points on Antutu Benchmark, as per the initial leaks.

Also, Huawei recently teased that the Mate 20 will pack a larger capacity battery than Huawei Mate 10 and P20, hinting towards a slightly larger 4,200mAh battery.

As seen in the P20 Pro, we expect either just the Pro or else both of them to sport triple cameras at the back. Moreover, the rumours hint at 8GB RAM variants too. The Mate 20 is expected to come with a 6.3-inch display with a Notch while the Mate 20 Pro may have a larger 6.9-inch Notched display, both with QuadHD+ resolution. A 3D Facial recognition based unlock system is what we look forward to.

We also have the Mate 20 Lite in the lineup which comes with dual cameras and is expected to have the Kirin 710 SoC on its board.

Evidently, Apple and Qualcomm will be soon coming with their own 7nm based chipsets manufactured by TSMC, namely Apple A12 and Snapdragon 855.

Xiaomi’s Redmi seems to be working on the successor of the Redmi Y2, the Redmi Y3. The Redmi Y2 was launched back in 2018 as a camera-centric smartphone. Today, the WiFi certification of the upcoming Redmi Y3 has surfaced online.

The device bears the model number M1810F6G. According to the WiFi Alliance certification, the device will support Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and will run on Google’s Android 9.0 Pie with MIUI 10 on top out of the box.

The certification ID is WFA82629 and the certified band is listed as 2.4 GHz. 5 GHz band will also be present on the device. Unfortunately, the certification does not reveal any other information regarding the key specifications of the smartphone. This device is expected to be launched in China as Redmi S3 as the Redmi Y2 was launched first in China named Redmi S2.

The Xiaomi Redmi Y2 featured a tall 5.99-inch HD+ display with a resolution of 1440 × 720 pixels and 18:9 aspect ratio powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor. We expect a chipset upgrade in this year’s version. The rumors state that it may come with Snapdragon 632 which powers the Redmi 7.

The Redmi Y2 had a 16 MP front camera and a dual 12 MP + 5 MP setup. Better camera sensors are expected to be placed on the Redmi Y3. The device ran on Android 8.1 Oreo with MIUI 9.5 on top, while the Redmi Y3 will indeed run MIUI 10 based on Android 9 Pie. It comes with a 3080 mAh battery and a rear fingerprint sensor. Higher battery capacity will be present on the Redmi Y3.

Coming to the pricing, the 3GB RAM variant of the Redmi Y2 cost Rs. 9,999 and the higher variant went for sale at a price of Rs. 12,999. Similar pricing is anticipated for the Redmi Y3 and we hope the brand does not exceed the 10k category.

We expect more information regarding the Redmi Y3 in the upcoming days. Till then, stay tuned for further updates.

Google Pixel 4 XL Leaked. Will Feature Dual Rear Cameras & Punch-hole Display!

Published

It’s the time of the year when we slowly start getting leaks from multiple sources regarding the upcoming Pixel devices. The rumor mill has started churning out leaks of the most anticipated smartphone of the year, the Google Pixel 4 XL.

The last generation Pixel devices indeed got leaked multiple times that the brand itself made a teaser video regarding the leaks. While everyone was expecting a Pixel 3 Ultra which apparently didn’t happen, the design language of the Pixel 3 XL didn’t really attract the masses with its gigantic notch.

If the leaked images are to be believed, the Pixel 4 XL will be featuring the punch-hole display which quite resembles the Samsung Galaxy S10+. The bezels are comparatively thinner this time which improves the overall look and feel of the device. We hope the brand does not skip on the stereo speakers for minimizing the bezels.

On the rear, it appears like there will be dual horizontally stacked rear cameras which are quite surprising considering the history of the brand which managed to achieve portrait mode with a single lens. This second lens could also be a wide-angle lens. The LED flash is mounted to the right of the dual rear cameras.

There is no physical fingerprint scanner on the device. In fact, the handset will feature an in-display fingerprint sensor. The unknown factor is the nature of the scanner (optical or ultrasonic). It is also possible for the fingerprint sensor to be embedded into the power button.

As of now, further information regarding Pixel 4 is not known. There is no verified information if the leaked image is legitimate or not yet. If the device actually turns out to be like the one on the leaked image, we expect it to actually get positive feedback. More leaks will be unfolding in the upcoming days. Stay tuned for updates.

Huawei Nova 4e Renders Leaked before Launch!

Published

on

Huawei is scheduled to launch the Huawei Nova 4e on March 14 in China, which obviously is the successor to Huawei Nova 3e launched last year. The smartphone has already been subjected to a couple of leaks.

Ahead of the tomorrow’s launch, several renders of the handset surfaced online revealing its design and color options. The renders are in line with previous leaks that suggest a waterdrop-style notch screen and rear mounted triple camera setup.

The new leaked renders show the smartphone in Pearl White, Magic Night Black and Garnet Blue color options. The Garnet Blue variant seems to be a gradient hue with royal blue at top and purple at the bottom. The images reveal the smartphone to have a waterdrop notch, rear mounted circular fingerprint sensor and a triple rear camera setup. The date on the display is shown as March 14, which is launch date of the Huawei Nova 4e.

According to the previous leaks, the Huawei Nova 4e will feature a 6.5 inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of FHD+ (2312 x 1080 pixels). It will be powered by an octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 710 Soc clocked at 2.2GHz and will be available in two configurations: 4GB RAM + 128GB and 6GB RAM + 128GB internal storage.

The rear triple camera setup will have a 24MP + 8MP + 2MP configuration while offering a 32MP selfie camera. The Huawei Nova 4e runs EMUI 9 based on Android 9 Pie and will be backed by a 3,240 mAh battery supported by 18W fast charging with a USB Type-C port.

Huawei has not announced the pricing yet but we don’t have to wait for long as everything will be revealed on tomorrow’s launch. It is expected to be priced around Rs 25,000 based on the specifications competing against the upper mid-range handsets like the recently launch Vivo V15 Pro and OPPO F11 Pro. We will be covering more details from the launch event.
