Honor announced the Honor View 20 smartphone that will feature not only one but three ground breaking world-first technologies. The next generation flagship from the company will sport the world’s first 48MP camera for primary imaging along with Honor All-View Display and Honor Link Turbo. While the smartphone is scheduled to launch next year on January 20, Xiaomi is also planning to launch a smartphone with a 48MP camera next year.
The Chinese manufacturer revealed that the View 20 flagship smartphone will boast the Sony’s latest 48MP IMX586 sensor that will be delivering top quality images and will incredible details even when zoomed in. The camera will be first to have this high definition 48 effective megapixels technology and will get a boost from a dedicated dual NPU that will allow multi-frame image processing for clicking multiple images with striking details simultaneously.
Under the hood, the Honor view 20 will be powered by a Huawei’s latest Kirin 980 chipset that has dual ISP and dual-NPU technology for better AI computing and graphics processing power. This will come handy while clicking multiple photos from the 48MP camera resulting in a 48MP AI high-definition image.
The top-of the line Kirin 980 chipset is the world’s first processor based on 7nm process resulting in a 20 percent improved performance and 40 percent improved efficiency. It consists of an octa-core chipset with two ARM Cortex A76 high-performance cores that are clocked at 2.6 GHz, two ARM Cortex A76 cores clocked at 1.92 GHz and four ARM Cortex A55 cores clocked at 1.8 GHz for power efficiency.
Furthermore, with this smartphone Honor will be introducing the latest All-View Display that comes with an in-screen front camera design. The company says it has been achieved through complex 18-layer technology stacks that embed the front camera in the display resulting in an almost bezels less design and high screen-to-body ratio. As for the Link Turbo technology, it leverages AI to analyse user’s model and network conditions to switch seamlessly between Wi-Fi or 4G networks which in turn will boost downloading speed by simultaneously adopting both networks. It seems that Honor View 20 creates a benchmark on its own which takes smartphone photography to a whole new level.
