A few months ago, Huawei’s sub-brand Honor launched the Honor Play in China. The device was received well in China and now the company has announced its plans to bring the device to India. Last week, a teaser was posted on Amazon revealing the device’s upcoming Indian launch.

The device is scheduled to be launched tomorrow in India. A new tweet posted by Honor India’s official handle states that the device would be available to buy starting tomorrow. Take a look at the tweet posted by the company below.

The Honor Play is yet another smartphone which is gaming-centric. We have seen a bunch of gaming smartphones in the past like the Xiaomi BlackShark, Razer Phone, Asus ROG Phone. All these devices have encouraged game developers to develop games with superior graphics.

The smartphone features a 6.3-inch Full-HD display with a pixel resolution of 1080*2280 pixels and has a 19:9 aspect ratio. The Chinese smartphone maker has included Histen Audio Tech which produces game sounds in 7.1 channel. There will be two variants of the device Рone with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage and the other with 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage.

The processor used in the device is Kirin 970 which the company also uses for its flagship device Huawei P20 Pro and the recently launched Honor 10. The key attraction of the device is the pricing. It is priced affordably at 2000 Yuan and 2400 Yuan which roughly translates to Rs.20,700 and Rs.25,200 respectively.

There will also be a new GPU turbo feature with the Honor Play which will improve the GPU performance by 60%. This is achieved by restructuring the graphical framework at a lower level than simple software features.

As far as the cameras are concerned, the device packs a dual rear camera setup(16 MP+2 MP). The front camera is a 16 MP shooter. The handset draws juice from a 3,750mAh battery and runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with EMUI custom skin. The sale will be an Amazon Exclusive and will take place at 4 pm tomorrow.

Asus Schedules Launch event for 17th October. Zenfone Max Pro M2 & Max M2 Incoming?

Published

on

Asus recently entered the India market with its new Zenfone Max Pro series which performed extraordinarily well in terms of sales. Now, it seems that the Taiwanese giant is planning to launch yet another smartphone in the country on the 17th of October.

The hint comes from the official social media handles of the company as well as the media invites. The invite sent by Asus reads out the time and venue of the event, followed by the confirmation that the upcoming smartphones will be a part of the Zenfone series. The event will be held on the 17th of October at 12:30 pm IST and will take place in New Delhi. Furthermore, the event will be live-streamed as well as the previous launch.

Moreover, the teaser on Instagram suggests the first global launch of two new Zenfones in India. If you are not aware of these two phones, let us tell you that two new Asus smartphones namely the Asus Zenfone Max M2 and Zenfone Max Pro M2 were recently seen on EEC and it is a strong possibility that these two devices turn out to be the same which the company has planned to launch on 17th.

Some were¬†even¬†speculating¬†the launch of Asus Rog gaming phone in India which unfortunately is barred by the fact that it doesn’t fall under the Zenfone series.

As of now, we don’t have much information available about the devices but it can be said that the Zenfone Max Pro M2 might be powered by the relatively powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 or even the Snapdragon 710 SoC coupled with up to 6GB of RAM and 64GB of Internal Storage. The device is expected to be a direct successor to the Zenfone Max Pro M1 with a notched display, better cameras and a similar battery capacity of around 5000mAh.

On the other hand, Zenfone Max M2 (non-pro) might be a sub-10K smartphone just like the Realme 2 and is expected to bear Snapdragon 450 chipset. However, we insist that you should take these specs with a pinch of salt as we don’t have any official words on the same.

As usual, we expect an aggressive pricing from Asus to compete with the likes of Xiaomi and Realme. Let us wait for the launch to have exact information on the same. Till then, Stay tuned.
