Honor Play

The market for gaming smartphones has been evolving, and now all the mobile manufacturers are trying to target this segment of the market. Now Honor has launched their affordable gaming smartphone, the Honor Play (yes, it was reported earlier). The company has launched this device today morning in a launch event which was held in China.

Now talking about the most important factor, the pricing of the device. This device has been launched at a price of CNY 2,000 which is equivalent to $310 or Rs.20,700. The reason why we have mentioned this at the first place is because at this price level you cannot expect a Kirin 970 chipset, which is the same chipset the company uses in the recently launched Honor 10 and the Huawei P20 Pro.

The company also boasts a new GPU turbo feature with the Honor Play, which will improve the GPU performance by upto 60% as the company says. This is achieved by restructuring the graphical framework at a lower level than simple software features. This is said to come to company’s other phones in the future on an OTA update.

The all new Honor Play sports a 6.3 inch Full HD display with a resolution of 1080*2280 pixels with 19:9 aspect ratio. Additionally to provide the best sound experience to the gamers, the company has also included Histen Audio Tech which produces game sounds in 7.1 channel. Honor has got two variants to offer, the first one with 4GB/64GB which is priced at 2000 Yuan and the second one with 6GB/64GB of storage which is being offered at 2400 Yuan or 25,200 INR.

iPhone X Lookalike Motorola P30 launched in China. Also Launched Z3 & E5 Plus.

Published

on

As scheduled, Motorola has finally unveiled the Motorola P30 in China, today on August 15. Additionally, the Lenovo-backed Motorola has also launched the flagship Motorola Z3 and the budget E5 Plus devices (already launched earlier). As leaked earlier, the device is the first Moto smartphone to debut with a notch and seems to be heavily inspired by the likes of iPhone X.

The all new Moto P30 matches the iPhone X with a Notch above the display which is wide enough, and the vertically stacked dual rear camera setup on the back. It comes with a ceramic glass sandwich design with rounded corners in white and black colour options. We also have an option to choose the gradient blue-purple colour which appears to be heavily influenced by the twilight version of the Huawei P20. The only thing that is evidently original to Motorola is its logo at the back which also doubles up as a fingerprint reader.

The Moto P30 comes with a 6.2-inch Full HD+ (2246×1080 pixels) notched display with an aspect ratio of 19:9 and a 2.5D glass layered on top.

The phone packs the Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 SoC coupled with 6GB of RAM at its core, with options of 64GB and 128GB of onboard storage. Moreover, Motorola claims to utilise AI-powered graphics acceleration to render smooth gaming experience in the P30.

In the Optics department, the Moto P30 gets a 16 megapixel (f/1.8)+ 5-megapixel (f/2.2) dual camera set up at the rear with AI-based scene recognition and portrait mode, AR mode along with an LED flash. While a 12-megapixel selfie shooter with an LED flash and facial recognition sensors sits at the notch upfront.

On the software front, instead of Stock Android, the P30 boots Lenovo’s ZUI 4.0 on top of Android 8.0 Oreo. Powering the phone is a 3,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging support. The phone also retains the 3.5mm jack which Motorola forgot to remove while copying the iPhone X.

Jokes apart, the Moto P30 will go on sale in China starting September 15, at a price of CNY 2,099 (roughly Rs 21,300) for the base variant and CNY 2,499 (roughly Rs 25,400) for the top end variant. As of now, we don’t have any info regarding the global launch. Stay tuned for more updates.
