iPhone X Lookalike Motorola P30 launched in China. Also Launched Z3 & E5 Plus.
As scheduled, Motorola has finally unveiled the Motorola P30 in China, today on August 15. Additionally, the Lenovo-backed Motorola has also launched the flagship Motorola Z3 and the budget E5 Plus devices (already launched earlier). As leaked earlier, the device is the first Moto smartphone to debut with a notch and seems to be heavily inspired by the likes of iPhone X.
The all new Moto P30 matches the iPhone X with a Notch above the display which is wide enough, and the vertically stacked dual rear camera setup on the back. It comes with a ceramic glass sandwich design with rounded corners in white and black colour options. We also have an option to choose the gradient blue-purple colour which appears to be heavily influenced by the twilight version of the Huawei P20. The only thing that is evidently original to Motorola is its logo at the back which also doubles up as a fingerprint reader.
The Moto P30 comes with a 6.2-inch Full HD+ (2246×1080 pixels) notched display with an aspect ratio of 19:9 and a 2.5D glass layered on top.
The phone packs the Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 SoC coupled with 6GB of RAM at its core, with options of 64GB and 128GB of onboard storage. Moreover, Motorola claims to utilise AI-powered graphics acceleration to render smooth gaming experience in the P30.
In the Optics department, the Moto P30 gets a 16 megapixel (f/1.8)+ 5-megapixel (f/2.2) dual camera set up at the rear with AI-based scene recognition and portrait mode, AR mode along with an LED flash. While a 12-megapixel selfie shooter with an LED flash and facial recognition sensors sits at the notch upfront.
On the software front, instead of Stock Android, the P30 boots Lenovo’s ZUI 4.0 on top of Android 8.0 Oreo. Powering the phone is a 3,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging support. The phone also retains the 3.5mm jack which Motorola forgot to remove while copying the iPhone X.
Jokes apart, the Moto P30 will go on sale in China starting September 15, at a price of CNY 2,099 (roughly Rs 21,300) for the base variant and CNY 2,499 (roughly Rs 25,400) for the top end variant. As of now, we don’t have any info regarding the global launch. Stay tuned for more updates.
