Honor Note 10 Launched! Comes with 6.95inch Display & 5000mAh battery

Honor launched their much awaited Honor Note 10 phablet today at an event in Beijing, China. The device has been the talk of the town for the past weeks and is said to be in development for 2 years! And if you were wondering, this is the same phone that we saw in the previous leaks, and yes, there is no notch!

The Honor Note 10 excludes a top notch and have thin top and bottom bezels. There are no side bezels which makes watching movies a treat. The device comes with support for HDR10 video format with AMOLED display, which enhances video and image watching experience. The company says “Glory Note 10 is equivalent to IMAX in mobile phone”.

As for the specs, Honor Note 10 features a massive 6.9 AMOLED display with a resolution of FHD+ (2220 x 1080 pixels), supplied by Samsung. Under the hood, it is powered by the company’s Kirin 970 Octa-core  AI chipset clocked at 1.84 GHz  and will be available in  three configurations : 4GB RAM  + 64GB ROM, 6GB RAM + 128GB ROM and  8GB RAM + 128GB ROM. It not only comes with GPU Turbo Tech but with CPU Turbo technology as well to provide enhanced and improved gaming experience.

For extreme gamers, the company has included a button called the Turbo button, which in pressing performs background cleaning and let the CPU continue to run in its highest performance state. Additionally, the button can also be used to capture images and video which can be viewed later on. For handling the heat, the device comes with a PC-grade liquid cooling system -called the Nine liquid cooling technology that improves the heat dissipation capacity of the device by almost 41 per cent.

In the optics department, the device sports a  AI powered dual camera setup at the back of 24MP + 16 MP configuration stacked in vertical arrangement on the top left. It comes with AIS artificial intelligence image stabilization technology, 4K video recording at 30fps, slow-motion video among other features. Honor claims the cameras are good as  a professional SLR. The front  offers a 13MP camera with features like AI powered Portrait mode and  AI beautification.

The device runs EMUI 8.2 on top of Android 8.1.0 Oreo. It is backed by an massive 5,000 mAh battery with Honor 5V 4.5A Super Charge charging technology which gives 2 hours of battery back in 10 min of charge. Honor claims the battery  to deliver almost 17.5 hours of playback time and 15 hours of video playing. Connectivity features include 4G with VoLTE support, Wi-Fi 802.11, b/g/n, Bluetooth 5.0, a 3.5mm headphone jack, USB Type-C, GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS, dual-SIM slots, NFC. It measures 177x85x7.65 mm and weighs 230 g.

The Honor Note 10 comes at a price tag of 2799 yuan (Rs 28,000 approx) for the 4/64GB variant, 3199 yuan (Rs 32,000 approx) for the 6/128GB variant and 3599 yuan (Rs 36,000 approx) for the top 8/128GB variant and will be available in blue-violet interlaced phantom blue and classic night black colour options. Currently there is no word about its launch in the international markets.

Mi 9 SE Launched in China. Comes with SD712 & 48MP Sony IMX586 Sensor!

Along with Mi 9, Xiaomi also launched a younger sibling for the phone in China, the Mi 9 SE. It is the successor to Mi 8 SE launched earlier last year.

The Mi 9 SE comes with a 5.97 inch AMOLED display, and the front cam sits in a v shaped notch compared to the U shaped one from it’s siblings. As a surprise, the phone comes with an in display fingerprint scanner like that of it’s elder siblings.

This phone is the first one to come with a Snapdragon 712 SoC, which is basically an overclocked Snapdragon 710. It also comes with two variants, which comes with 64GB & 128GB internal storages. Both of them comes with the same 6GB RAM though.

The phone also has the triple camera setup like the Mi 9, but with a different camera sensor array. The main sensor remains the same though, the same 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor which is an f/1.8 one. The other two sensors are a 13MP ultra wide lens and an 8MP telephoto lens. The front camera app remains the same from Mi 9, a 20MP one.

The phone does however has a downgrade in the battery, which is a 3070mAh one, with support for 18W fast charging.

The phone is priced at 1999 Yuan (21K INR approx) for the base variant and 2299 Yuan (24K INR approx) for the 6/128GB variant.

Mi 9 & Mi 9 Transparent Edition Launched in China!

Xiaomi has finally launched the Mi 9 series in China. Yes, I said Mi 9 series because there was a surprise launch alongside Mi 9 & Mi 9 Explorer Edition, the Mi 9 SE. Which is the successor to Mi 8 SE, which was launched last year.

Coming to Mi 9, it’s the blockbuster we expected from Xiaomi. It comes with a 6.39 inch AMOLED display, with a u shaped notch on top. Xiaomi claims 90.7% screen to body ratio with this phone, with one of the smallest chins in the industry, 3.6mm thickness. The glass is a Gorilla Glass 6 on the front and back.

The phone is powered by Qualcomm’s latest flagship chipset, Snapdragon 855. It comes with 6 & 8 GB RAM variants and the internal storage is 128GB for both the models.

The phone comes with a triple camera setup of 48MP primary camera, which is a Sony IMX586 sensor. It also has a 16MP Sony IMX481 wide angle camera and a 12MP telephoto lens, which is a Samsung sensor.

The phone also performed very well in the DXOMark benchmark, it scored 107 in total scores and 112 for photo score and 99 in the video scores. The video score is the highest for any phone for phones from DXO.

The phone is powered by a 3300mAh battery, and it comes with Charge Turbo fast charging tech, a shift from Qualcomm’s Quick Charge fast charging tech. It supports upto 27W fast charging, but the charger provided in the box is an 18W one. It also has support for 20W fast wireless charging, they’re just calling it Charge Turbo too. It is the fastest wireless charging standard available in the market for a phone. Also the adapter of the wireless charging pad has a rating of 27W, which you can use to charge the phone, i.e, their Charge Turbo fast charging. Also, the Charge Turbo has also been certified by TÜV for safety.

Like the previous version, this phone also comes with an in-display fingerprint scanner on the front. This is an improved version they say.

The phone is priced at 2,999 Yuan (31.5K INR approx) for the base variant and 3,299 Yuan (35K INR approx) for the 8/128GB variant.

Mi 9 Transparent Edition

Now, talking about the Mi 9 transparent edition, this is basically the same phone, but with an enhanced almost transparent back, showing off the fake internals inside the phone (yeah, just like Mi 8 Explorer Edition).

The Transparent edition bumps up the RAM to 12GB and the internal storage to 256GB. Other than that, the phone is basically a normal Mi 9. The phone is priced at 3,999 Yuan (almost 42K INR).

Vivo V15 Pro launched with Snapdragon 675 & 32 MP Pop-up Selfie Camera!

Chinese smartphone giant Vivo has unveiled its latest device, the Vivo V15 Pro in India. There were leaks coming out in the past few months and the device got finally unveiled now. The handset is a mid-range offering from the brand. Nipun Marya, director of the brand strategy at Vivo India confirmed that this is also the global launch for the Vivo V15 Pro.

The display is a 6.39-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED Ultra FullView one with  91.64% screen-to-body ratio and 19.5:9 aspect ratio. It is powered by the latest octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 chipset making it the first ever smartphone to feature this new processor.

The handset comes with 6 GB or 8 GB RAM variants to choose from coupled with 128 GB of internal storage which is further expandable up to 256 GB with the help of a micro SD card.

The Vivo V15 Pro flaunts a triple rear camera setup with its primary sensor being a 48 MP one that uses pixel binning technique. It is accompanied by an 8 MP wide-angle lens and a 5 MP depth sensor. The usual AI camera features like AI Face Beauty, AI Portrait Framing, AI Super Night Mode, and AI Body Shaping features are available in the camera app.

The front camera, which Vivo calls the “Elevating Front Camera” is packed with a 32 MP sensor which uses the same pop-up mechanism seen on the Vivo NEX. The device equips fifth-generation in-display fingerprint scanner.  In terms of battery, the device draws juice from a 3,700mAh with 22.5W Dual-Engine fast charging.

Coming to the software, the device will run on Funtouch OS 9 which is based on Android 9 Pie. Topaz Blue and Ruby Red are the color variants available. As far as the pricing and availability are concerned, it will be available for pre-booking from the 6th of March at Rs. 28,990 for the 6 GB RAM + 128 GB variant exclusively on Flipkart.
