The recent press invites gave the confirmation of Honor launching a new smartphone in India, on July 24. Earlier, the device was speculated to be the Honor 9X- a renamed version of the Honor 9i (2018) that was launched a few months back, along with the Honor Play in China. However, the latest tweet by Honor India reveals the device to be named as Honor 9N instead of 9X as per the previous reports.

The Honor 9N will be launched in India at an event held on July 24. The device will be having same specifications and design as the Honor 9i (2018). Until now, we have got only the confirmation of Honor 9N, but there’s a slight possibility the company might reveal the Honor Play as well.

The Honor 9N comes with a glass body and rounded corners along with a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and a Notched display.

In terms of specifications, the device comes with a 5.84-inch IPS LCD display having Full HD+ resolution of 2280 x 1080 pixels, maintaining an aspect ratio of 19:9 due to the presence of Notch. Under the hood, the device is powered by HiSilison Kirin 659 SoC coupled with Mali-T830MP2 GPU and 4GB of RAM. It will be available in two configurations including 64GB and 128GB storage options.

On the software front, it runs on EMUI 8.0 layered on Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box. All this is backed by a 3,000 mAh battery which unfortunately doesn’t support any sort of quick charging protocols.

In China, the base variant of  Honor 9i (2018) is priced at CNY 1,3999 (roughly Rs.14,300) while the higher 128GB variant retails for CNY 1,699 (roughly Rs.17,400) and is available in a wide range of colour options including Black, Blue, Green, and Purple out of which Blue and purple are confirmed for India. We expect the device to be priced similarly in India. Let’s wait for the official launch for exact information. Till then, Stay tuned.
