The recent press invites gave the confirmation of Honor launching a new smartphone in India, on July 24. Earlier, the device was speculated to be the Honor 9X- a renamed version of the Honor 9i (2018) that was launched a few months back, along with the Honor Play in China. However, the latest tweet by Honor India reveals the device to be named as Honor 9N instead of 9X as per the previous reports.
The Honor 9N will be launched in India at an event held on July 24. The device will be having same specifications and design as the Honor 9i (2018). Until now, we have got only the confirmation of Honor 9N, but there’s a slight possibility the company might reveal the Honor Play as well.

The Honor 9N comes with a glass body and rounded corners along with a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and a Notched display.
In terms of specifications, the device comes with a 5.84-inch IPS LCD display having Full HD+ resolution of 2280 x 1080 pixels, maintaining an aspect ratio of 19:9 due to the presence of Notch. Under the hood, the device is powered by HiSilison Kirin 659 SoC coupled with Mali-T830MP2 GPU and 4GB of RAM. It will be available in two configurations including 64GB and 128GB storage options.
In terms of Cameras, the Honor 9N flaunts an AI-powered 13MP + 2MP dual-camera setup at the rear and a 16MP shooter at the front for Selfies. All this is backed by a 3,000 mAh battery which unfortunately doesn’t support any sort of quick charging protocols.
In China, the base variant of Honor 9i (2018) is priced at CNY 1,3999 (roughly Rs.14,300) while the higher 128GB variant retails for CNY 1,699 (roughly Rs.17,400) and is available in a wide range of colour options including Black, Blue, Green, and Purple out of which Blue and purple are confirmed for India. We expect the device to be priced similarly in India. Let’s wait for the official launch for exact information. Till then, Stay tuned.
Infinix Teases a New Smartphone Launch on 23rd August
After the recent launch of Infinix Smart 2 in India, the Infinix Mobility is now gearing up for the launch of another smartphone on August 23 in the country. The brand has already sent out the media invites for the same revealing few details about the launch.
The media invite by Infinix mentions the August 23 launch with “Save the Date” caption and #BeyondTheBest hashtag. Moreover, the Invite showcases the partial design outline of the upcoming smartphone soaring above the tallest building in a night view skyline which indicates that the device will sport a large display. The device seems to have rounded corners and modern 18:9 display with thin bezels on top and bottom.

Although the device seems to have no notch, there are rumours that this phone may turn out to be the new Infinix S3X which was launched in a few days back in certain regions.
Talking about the Infinix S3X, it is the company’s first phone to debut with a notched display. The fact that Infinix marketed the S3X with the #Anotchhigher hashtag and an image similar to the one seen in the media invite gives rise to the above speculation of it coming to India on 23rd of August.
However, there is a higher possibility of the device to be a completely different Infinix phone with minimal bezels and large display. As of now, we dont have any information regarding the same. We will keep you updated with future updates. Till then, Stay tuned.
Samsung to Launch a new A series phone to rival OnePlus 6. Is it A9 Star?
From a report by Counterpoint, OnePlus 6 is the top leading smartphone in India in the premium smartphone market. The company has taken over Samsung for the first time in a full quarter in Q2 2018 in India with 40 percent market share. In the budget segment, Samsung is also facing a lot of stiff competition from other Chinese manufacturers like Xiaomi, Vivo, OPPO and Huawei Honor.
Samsung launched the Galaxy A8+ earlier this year to compete against the OnePlus 5T. Despite featuring an Infinity display and powered by Exynos 7882, it failed to stand it’s ground against the OnePlus flagship with a similar price tag of Rs 33,000.
Now a new report from IANS reveals that Samsung is planning to launch a new Galaxy A series smartphone in the country. It will be placed in the premium segment with a price tag of around Rs 30,000 or above. Xiaomi has recently teased it’s POCO brand in India whose first smartphone Pocophone F1 has been getting a lot of attention. Samsung wouldn’t want Xiaomi to make a strong dominance in this segment also.
From the report, the upcoming smartphone will feature a 6.3 inch Full HD+ AMOLED Infinity Display with sleek bezels on side. It will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chipset coupled with 6GB RAM and 64GB internal storage with further expandable options via a microSD card. From these descriptions, we can assume that the phone that is going to be launched is the Samsung Galaxy A9 Star which was launched earlier in China.
It will sport a dual camera setup of 24MP + 16MP in the rear with Samsung Live Focus feature while the front will offer a 24MP camera for selfies and video calling. The yet-to-be announced smartphone will be going against the likes of OnePlus 6, Asus Zenfone 5Z, Huawei Nova 3 and the Xiaomi Pocophone F1.

Motorola is gearing up for the launch of its upcoming smartphones, the Motorola One and the Motorola One Power. Both the smartphones has been subjected to multiple leaks before and is rumoured to be unveiled at the company’s IFA press conference in Berlin.
Now ahead of its official launch, the Motorola One makes an appearance in the benchmarking site GeekBench. Though the listing didn’t give all the specs away, it gives a fair idea what to expect from the handset.
From the listing, the Motorola One will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset and coupled with 4GB RAM. The device that was benchmarked ran on Android 8.1 Oreo. We can expect some more memory configurations and the possibility of shipping with the latest Android 9.0 Pie. Overall, the device managed to score 876 and 4299 on single-core and multi-core tests respectively.
If rumours are to be believed, the Lenovo owned company will ditch the ZUI 4.0 interface for a pure stock Android Experience, launching as a part of Google One smartphones. From a previously leaked image, the smartphone sports a top notch. The same report reveals the dual cameras to be of 16MP sensor with f/1.8 aperture and a secondary 5MP with f/2.0 aperture while the front offers a 16MP camera sensor with f/1.9 aperture and backed by a 3,780 battery.
In a separate leak, a couple of hands-on images showing both the front side and the rear of the Motorola One Power surfaced online. The front shows sleek bezels and a dual camera setup with LED flash in between on the back stacked in a vertical arrangement on the top left corner. The back Moto logo doubles up as a fingerprint sensor for security.
From previous leaks, the Moto One Power will feature a 6.2 inch Full HD+ display protected by Corning Gorilla Glass. It will also be powered by a Snapdragon 636 chipset coupled with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage expandable up to 256GB via microSD card. The rear cameras come with 12MP + 5MP configuration while the front offers an 8MP camera. It will run stock Android 8.1 Oreo and backed by a non-removable Li-Po 3780 mAh battery.
