Last month Honor launched the Honor 8X and the Honor 8X Max last month in China. Today the Chinese manufacturer announced that they will be launching the Honor 8X Max in India on October 16. However, it didn’t mention anything about the Honor 8X Max so it is still uncertain whether it will also be launched in the country.

Honor India made the announced via their official twitter handle. The event will be held on October 16 at 11.30 AM onwards. For those who can be present on the event, they can watch it on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube where it will be broadcasted live. The company is also hosting an event in London the same day where it will be unveiling the Mate 20, Mate 20 Pro, Mate 20X and Mate 20 Porsche Design smartphones.
The Honor 8X has a metallic frame and features a 6.5 inch waterdrop IPS LCD display with a resolution of FHD+ (2244 x 1080p) with a 2.5D curved tempered glass on top. The display comes with a aspect ratio of 19:5:9 and a screen-to-body ratio of 91%. The TUV Rheinland certified screen has a blue light protection.
Under the hood, it is powered by a Kirin 710 chipset coupled with 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage with expandable memory upto 256GB via microSD card. There will be a dual camera setup on the rear with 20MP + 2MP configuration and a 16MP front camera with f/2.0 aperture. It supports Face Unlocking though there is a circular fingerprint sensor at the back.
The handset will run EMUI 8.2 on top of Android 8.1 Oreo but will get an Android 9 pie upgrade later on. It is backed by a 3750 mAh battery with support for fast charging (10W) via a microSD port. Connectivity options include 4G LTE and VoLTE, Bluetooth 5.0 and Dual band Wi-Fi (2.4 GHz and 5.0 GHz). Though there is no word about the price, it is expected to be priced around Rs 15,000 in India competing against the Mi A2, Redmi Note 5 Pro, Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 and the recently launched Realme 2 Pro.
