Honor is scheduled to launch the Honor 8X and Honor 8X Max on September 5. Ahead of its launch, the Honor 8X Max is officially listed on e-commerce website JD.com with official renders and some of its specifications. Contrary to its predecessor Honor 7X which had a metallic body, the Honor 8X has a modern design with an all glass build giving it a premium look. It comes with a small water drop notch and a circular fingerprint sensor on the rear.
Take a look at the product images from the listing:
According to the listing, the Honor 8X Max features a 7.12 inch display with a resolution of FHD+ (2244 x 1080p) with a 2.5D curved tempered glass on top. The display comes with 2% NTSC color gamut, a pixel density of 350 ppi and a screen-to-body ratio of 90%.
Under the hood, it will be powered by an Snapdragon 660 AI chipset coupled with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage with expandable memory upto 256GB via microSD card, which aligns with the previous spotting of the phone in Master Lu benchmark.
There will be a dual camera setup on the rear with 16MP + 2MP configuration and an 8MP front camera on the front like its predecessor. It supports Face Unlocking and comes with Dolby Atmos 360 surround sound feature which will enhance the overall multimedia experience on the device.
The handset will run EMUI 8.2 on top of Android 8.1 Oreo but will get an Android 9 Pie update later on. It is backed by a massive 5,000 mAh battery with support for fast charging (18W) via a microSD port. Connectivity options include 4G LTE and VoLTE, Bluetooth 5.0 and Dual band Wi-Fi (2.4 GHz and 5.0 GHz). Surprisingly, the leak mentions the weight of the smartphone to be just 120g.
The spec list approximately puts the Honor 8X Max’s price around 1999 Yuan (Rs 20,000) in China which will be a tad higher than the higher variant of the Honor 7X. As of now there is no information about its availability in other markets outside China.
Nokia 5.1 Plus to be Launched on September 24, To be Flipkart exclusive
HMD Global announced the Nokia 6.1 Plus and the Nokia 5.1 Plus last month in the Indian market. However the company didn’t reveal the price of the Nokia 5.1 Plus. Now, a teaser of the Nokia 5.1 Plus was spotted on Flipkart today confirming the handset will be available through purchase in India exclusively through their platform. The teaser also reveals that the device will be launch on September 24 at 2:00 PM IST, where it will be revealing the pricing information.
It is also to be noted that the teaser reveals the hashtag #GameOn, which was previously reported to be that Nokia is working on a gaming phone, so that actually was a teaser for this phone and not a gaming phone.
The Nokia 5.1 Plus features a 5.86 inch display with a resolution of HD+ (1520 x 720 pixels) and an aspect ratio of 19:9 because of the top notch. Under the hood it is powered by an Octa-core MediaTek HelioP60 processor clocked at 2GHz. It will be coupled with 3GB RAM with 32GB internal storage which can be further expanded by a microSD card.
In the optics department, the Indian variant sports a 13MP camera sensor with PDAF, LED flash and AI assisted features while the front offers an 8MP camera sensor for selfies and video calling. It will run stock Android 8.1 Oreo unlike the Chinese variant and will be backed by a 3,000 mAh battery. There is a rear mounted fingerprint scanner though it supports Face Unlock too. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Dual SIM support, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS, 3.5mm headphone and a USB Type-C port.
Nokia X7/7.1 Plus Renders Appear Online. Shows Off a Familiar Design (Of course, with a Notch!)
HMD Global launched the first notched Nokia phone, the Nokia X6 and followed up with Nokia X5 in China which was rebranded as Nokia 6.1 Plus and Nokia 5.1 Plus in overseas respectively. Now the Finnish company is planning to launch the Nokia X7 in China which will be named as Nokia 7.1 Plus in international markets. The first render of the smartphone was today acquired by mysmartprice revealing the design aspects of the upcoming device.
Well, we’ve seen previous rumours that Nokia 7.1 Plus aka Nokia X7 is going to come with no notch, with it’s display panel being leaked without a notch, but with a normal 18:9 display. Now that rumour can be put to rest I guess.
The Nokia X7/7.1 Plus feature a similar design to that of the Nokia 6.1 Plus. It appears to have a glass body with a metal frame sandwiched in between. Though the previous leak suggests the handset will not have a notched display, the official renders show a notched display, a narrow one like the Nokia 6.1 Plus. It hints that the device may feature a FHD+ (2280 x 1080 pixel) resolution with an aspect ratio of 19:9.
In the rear, there is dual camera setup stacked in a vertical arrangement with an LED flash module. It clearly states that the device will features Carl Zeiss optics and a small camera bump. There is a circular fingerprint sensor placed below the cameras and the company logo following it. Also a Android One branding can also be seen clearly. The volume and power button are placed on the right side.
The Nokia 7.1 Plus is rumoured to be powered by an Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 chipset likely to be coupled with 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. Rumours also point to a larger battery with support for fast 18W charging. It is expected to come with the latest Android 9 Pie and be priced around Rs 25,000 approx. Since HMD takes a gap between the launch of the Chinese and International variant. The Nokia 6.1 Plus was launched three months after the Nokia X6. Following this schedule, the Nokia 7.1 Plus may be launched sometime towards the end of this year.
