Honor 8X & Honor 8X Max Launched in China!




Huawei‘s sub-brand Honor has unveiled two mid-range smartphones in China today. The devices are named Honor 8X and 8X Max respectively. Both the smartphones pack decent specifications and follow the market trends, the notch and water drop display.

The Honor 8X sports a large 6.5-inch screen with 1080 x 2340 pixel resolution. As mentioned earlier, the Honor 8X features the notch on the top of the display. The screen to body ratio of the device is 91% with 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The device is the first smartphone to feature a TUV Rheinland certified display. This certification indicates that display is safe to look at and has passed several tests thrown at it. Honor-8X-color-variants

The rear side of the device is covered in a 15-layer glare 2.5D glass which has two different textures. Under the hood, it is powered by Kirin 710 processor. The handset packs sufficient 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. In terms of optics, It features a 16 MP selfie shooter with f/2.0 aperture. The rear camera has 20 MP + 2 MP sensors with AI capabilities like scene recognition. As far as the software is concerned, it has Android 8.1 Oreo with EMUI 8.2 on top. The handset draws juice from a 3750 mAh battery.

Coming to the Honor 8X Max, it sports a gigantic 7.12-inch water-drop display with 1080 x 2244 pixel resolution. This handset is also certified by TUV. The processor used is a Snapdragon 636 processor paired with 4 GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage with an expandable storage option. There is also another variant for the device featuring Snapdragon 660 with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage.Honor-8X-Max-all-colors

There are dual rear vertically stacked cameras – 16 MP with f/2.0 aperture and 2 MP with  f/2.4 aperture. The front camera is an 8 MP sensor with f/2.0 aperture. The fingerprint sensor is placed on the rear side of the device. The device sports stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos. It is powered by a large 5000 mAh battery with support for 9V/2A fast charging. The Honor 8X is priced at ¥1899 (~$240) for the 6 GB RAM variant + 128GB version. The 4 GB RAM + 64 GB version is priced at ¥1399 (~$177) and 6 GB RAM + 64 GB version priced at ¥1599 (~$202).  The pre-orders have begun today and the open sale will start from September 11 at 10 AM. It comes in black, blue, red, and purple color variants.

The Honor 8X Max starts at ¥1499 (~$189) for the 4GB RAM + 64GB variant with Snapdragon 636 processor while the 128 GB is priced at ¥1799 (~$227). The Snapdragon 660 version has not yet been announced yet and is expected to be unveiled later. It comes in black, blue, red color variants.
