Honor 8C with SD632 and Dual Cameras launched in India for Rs. 11,999

After teasing the phone on Amazon for a while, the Huawei’s sub-brand Honor has now launched the Honor 8C smartphone in India as an Amazon Exclusive. The device was launched last month in China and its major highlights include a Notched display, dual cameras and a large battery.

As for the specs, the Honor 8C comes with a 6.26-inch HD+ Notched display in a 19:9 aspect ratio. The display further touts a pixel density of 269ppi and an impressive screen-to-body ratio of 86.6%, thanks to the Notch on top.

Under the hood, the device gets powered by the 14 nm-based Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 SoC and is the first device to debut with the same. It sports 4 GB of RAM and 32/64 GB of internal storage which can be expanded further up to 128 GB.

For photography, the Honor 8C gets a vertically stacked pair of dual cameras at the back. Cameras a 13-megapixel primary sensor with f/1.8 and PDAF alongside a 2-megapixel secondary sensor for collecting depth information. Upfront, the phone gets an 8-megapixel selfie shooter with f/2.0 aperture. Both the cameras are powered by AI features like smart scene detection, AI-based portrait mode and also feature LED flashlights.

On the software front, the device runs Android 8.1 Oreo with EMUI 8.2 layered on top. It draws its juice from a massive 4,000mAh battery. Lastly the connectivity options like dual-nano SIM slots, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.2, A-GPS with GLONASS, micro USB 2.0 and a 3.5 mm headphone jack are present on the phone.

The Honor 8C is priced at Rs. 11,999 for the base model with 4 GB RAM and 32 GB internal storage whereas the high-end variant with 64 GB storage is marked at Rs. 12,999. The handset will be sold in Magic Night Black, Nebula Purple, Platinum Gold and Aurora Blue colour options, exclusively via Amazon.in and HiHonor Store starting Dec 10.

Honor has also unveiled Honor Band 4 as an upgrade over the existing Honor Band 3. This new fitness tracker sports a 0.95-inch OLED display with a layer of 2.5D glass on top. It supports exercise tracking, sleep tracking, and incorporates pedometer & continuous heart rate monitoring with Huawei’s TruSeen 2.0 technology, followed by sedentary reminder. Furthermore, it is powered by 100mAh battery and is claimed to give 14 days of juice on a single charge.
