Honor 20 Pro & Honor 20 Launched! Comes with 48MP Quad Cameras, Kirin 980 & Android (yes, it is)!

Honor today launched its Honor 20 series of smartphones at an event in London. The event first saw the launch of the Honor 20 Pro and the Honor 20 after that. The Honor 20 Lite has already been announced in Malaysia and UK.

The Honor 20 Pro and the Honor 20 are quite similar in terms of looks. Usually with smartphones, the Pro variant comes with a bigger display. But both the models feature a 6.26 inch “All-View” IPS LCD display with a 4.5 mm punch hole in the top left corner. The company claims the hole punch to be the smallest resulting in a screen-to-body ratio of 91.6%.

Coming to the back of the smartphone, the Honor 20 series comes with a “Dynamic Holographic Design” that employs a two-stage process to create a 3D curved glass back with a “depth-inducing” optical effect. Both the smartphones have quad camera setup on the rear, though the Pro has slightly better hardware. Instead of introducing a rear fingerprint sensor or an under-display one, Honor went for a side mounted fingerprint sensor which is more practical.

The Honor 20 Pro has a combination of 48MP primary camera, 16MP Super-Wide angle, 8MP telephoto, and a 2MP macro lens. On the other hand the Honor 20 sports a 48MP primary camera, 16MP Super-Wide angle, 2MP depth sensor, and a 2MP macro lens. The Pro variant’s 48MP camera has a wider f/1.4 aperture and OIS. On the front, the devices offer a 32MP camera with f/2.0 aperture. Honor’s “AIS Super Night Mode” also makes a return for low-light photography. Additionally, there is a 30X digital zoom and a handheld “moon shot” on the Pro.

Under the hood, the Honor 20 Pro and the Honor 20 is powered by the latest 7nm HiSilicon Kirin 980 chipset paired with 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB internal storage (UFS 2.1) with no expandable memory. They run on Magic UI 2.1 based on Android 9 Pie with upgraded GPU Turbo 3.0. Despite the ban on Huawei for using Android, Honor has launched the phone with Android based Magic UI.

They both support 22.5W SuperCharge 1.0. There is also support for “Virtual 9.1 Surround Sound” and “AI frequency compensation’ to reduce earphone irritation and fatigue.

The Honor 20 pricing starts at 499 Euros (Rs 38,500 approx) for the 6/128GB variant while the Pro variant with 8/256GB variant will cost 599 Euros (Rs 46,500 approx). After all the teasing and leaks, Realme has finally launched the Realme X in India. This is the priciest Realme phone till date, and it’s like that for a reason, as they mention, this phone is a “Leap to Premium”. The phone was launched earlier this year in China, alongside Realme X lite, but that one is not launching here as it’s already available in India with a different name.

The Realme X is the first phone from Realme to come with a pop-up selfie camera. The pop-up camera means the phone comes with a 6.53 inch Full HD full-screen display.

The phone comes with a dual camera setup of a 48MP Sony IMX586 primary sensor and a 5MP depth sensor. And on the front, there is a 16MP Sony IMX471 sensor.

Talking about the battery, the phone comes with a 3765mAh battery, which supports VOOC 3.0 fast charging.

The phone is priced at Rs.16,999 for the 4/128GB variant and Rs.19,999 for the 8/128GB variant.
