Honor 20 Pro & Honor 20 Launched! Comes with 48MP Quad Cameras, Kirin 980 & Android (yes, it is)!

on

Honor today launched its Honor 20 series of smartphones at an event in London. The event first saw the launch of the Honor 20 Pro and the Honor 20 after that. The Honor 20 Lite has already been announced in Malaysia and UK.

The Honor 20 Pro and the Honor 20 are quite similar in terms of looks. Usually with smartphones, the Pro variant comes with a bigger display. But both the models feature a 6.26 inch “All-View” IPS LCD display with a 4.5 mm punch hole in the top left corner. The company claims the hole punch to be the smallest resulting in a screen-to-body ratio of 91.6%.

Coming to the back of the smartphone, the Honor 20 series comes with a “Dynamic Holographic Design” that employs a two-stage process to create a 3D curved glass back with a “depth-inducing” optical effect. Both the smartphones have quad camera setup on the rear, though the Pro has slightly better hardware. Instead of introducing a rear fingerprint sensor or an under-display one, Honor went for a side mounted fingerprint sensor which is more practical.

The Honor 20 Pro has a combination of 48MP primary camera, 16MP Super-Wide angle, 8MP telephoto, and a 2MP macro lens. On the other hand the Honor 20 sports a 48MP primary camera, 16MP Super-Wide angle, 2MP depth sensor, and a 2MP macro lens. The Pro variant’s 48MP camera has a wider f/1.4 aperture and OIS. On the front, the devices offer a 32MP camera with f/2.0 aperture. Honor’s “AIS Super Night Mode” also makes a return for low-light photography. Additionally, there is a 30X digital zoom and a handheld “moon shot” on the Pro.

Under the hood, the Honor 20 Pro and the Honor 20 is powered by the latest 7nm HiSilicon Kirin 980 chipset paired with 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB internal storage (UFS 2.1) with no expandable memory. They run on Magic UI 2.1 based on Android 9 Pie with upgraded GPU Turbo 3.0. Despite the ban on Huawei for using Android, Honor has launched the phone with Android based Magic UI.

Nokia 2.3 Launched in Egypt! Comes with Android Go like Specs & Budget Phone Price.

Published

on

Nokia has announced the Nokia 2.3, a new budget-friendly Android One smartphone. It’s probably the cheapest Android One smartphone right now and in Europe, it is priced at €109. It has everything that a new smartphone consumer needs- quite a large display, neat and clean OS, dual-camera setup and a big battery. The phone will be launched globally very soon, along with a few other new devices.

The phone has a simple yet good looking design. On the front, there is a tall 6.2-inch 720p HD+ 2.5D curved glass display. On the right side, there is the power button and above that, there are the volume rockers. Interestingly, on the left edge of the phone, there is a dedicated Google Assistant button. The back of the phone has a nano-textured cover with micro patterns that offer a better grip. The Nokia 2.0 is powered by MediaTek’s Helio A22 chipset, coupled with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage which can be expanded to up to 512GB via a microSD card.

In terms of camera, the Nokia 2.3 isn’t any less impressive as the back of the phone houses a dual-camera module- a 13-megapixel primary camera with an f/2.2 aperture along with a 2-megapixel depth sensor. There is an LED flash on the back as well. On the front, there is a 5-megapixel camera for video calling and selfies. The Nokia 2.3 has got a special feature- Recommended Shot. It automatically captures alternate images before and after pressing the shutter button and it also recommends the best picture. There are features like portrait mode and low-light imaging more for improved photos in low lighting conditions.

Nokia 2.3 comes in three colors

The phone runs Android 9 Pie out of the box and Android 10 may hit the phone anytime soon! Nokia has already provided a statement that the phone is Android 10 ready. That’s a piece of good news but well, after all, it’s an Android One smartphone, that kind of speedy updates are expected. Also, because the phone is under the Android One program, the phone will receive Android updates for two years and monthly security patches for three years. This is very good news for those jumping onto a smartphone because when it comes to software and updates, most budget phones just suck and Nokia 2.3 is surely very very promising in this case.
