Google is soon expected to announce two mid-range Pixel 3 devices that will be reportedly called Pixel 3 Lite and Pixel 3 XL Lite. However, these are not only the smartphones that Google is working on right now. A new Google smartphone nicknamed “Google coral” was spotted on benchmarking site GeekBench.
The Google Coral is expected to be one of the flagship models as it is listed to run the yet-to-be announced Android Q OS. This version of Android is yet to even get into Beta testing phase. The device could also be an Alpha build of the Pixel 4 that will likely to be the company’s first smartphone to run Google’s next generation operating system- Android Q.
The Google Coral is listed with 6GB RAM, so there may be a possibility of seeing a 8GB variant. The processor is not revealed and is just listed as ‘coral’. However the scores have all the markings of the Qualcomm’s latest 855 chipset. The handset managed a test score of 3296 and 9235 points on the single-core and multi-core test respectively. The test scores are about 10% higher than the SD 845 powered Pixel 3.
Currently there is no other information about this mysterious Google device. There are also speculations that this might be a new Chromebook model in works. As for the launch date, Google is not likely to announce it now considering the Pixel 4 and Android Q is yet to be announced. Till then, we just have to wait for an official confirmation to know exactly what it is.
Redmi Y3 Spotted in Geekbench! Comes with SD632.
Redmi Y3 is scheduled to arrive in the Indian market on April 23. The selfie-centric smartphone is the successor to the Redmi Y2 smartphone from last year. Ahead of the official launch, the Redmi Y3 has been appeared in benchmarking website GeekBench revealing key specs.
The predecessor Redmi Y2 was powered by a Snapdragon 625 chipset. The GeekBench listing reveals that base frequency of the Redmi Y3 chipset is 1.80 GHz which matches with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 SoC. It will be paired with 3GB RAM and run on Android 9 OS. The smartphone score 1236 and 4213 points in the single-core and multi-core tests respectively.
Redmi India posted a tweet earlier this week confirming the launch. The invite contained the hashtag “#32MPSuperSelfie” indicating that the upcoming smartphone will be a selfie-centric device. The Redmi Y3 USP is its AI-powered 32MP selfie camera. The handset will have a waterdrop-style notch display with HD+ resolution and backed by a 4,000 mAh battery. It is likely to arrive in gradient color options. The phone is speculated to be an entirely new phone unlike the Redmi Y2 and Redmi Y1 which were rebranded Redmi S2 and Redmi Note 5A respectively.
The smartphone is scheduled to launch tomorrow where all the details will be revealed. Keep tuned for further details.
OnePlus 7 CAD Renders Reveal an Unchanged Design from OnePlus 6T
OnePlus is getting closer to the first launch of the year as we approach the month of May. The Chinese manufacturer launched the OnePlus 6 last year on May 16. However, this time may be different and the company could launch two smartphones the OnePlus 7 and the OnePlus 7 Pro. Last month the exclusive renders of the OnePlus 7 surfaced online but as it turns out it might actually be the “Pro” variant. Now, Pricebaba with collaboration with @OnLeaks has released exclusive 5K renders and a 360-degree video of the OnePlus 7 variant.
From the renders, the upcoming OnePlus 7 will share more similarities with the OnePlus 6T than the Pro variant that will likely to sport a pop-up selfie camera. There are some minor changes like the LED flash which now sits inside the oblong camera module, unlike the last year’s model where it was outside. The website informs that the smartphone measures 9.5mm in thickness with the bump included while measuring 157.7 x 74.8 x 8.1mm.
The OnePlus 7 will sport a waterdrop notch like its predecessor. The tipster reveals that the panel on the upcoming smartphone measures 6.2-inches on the diagonal which is smaller than the 6.41-inch panel on the OnePlus 6T. The ports and button placement remains the same meaning you will find the alert slider with the power button on right with the volume rocker and ejectable SIM tray on the left. The top edge is devoid of anything except for the secondary microphone. Since there is no visible fingerprint sensor we can expect an under display one.
The smartphone has been subjected to multiple leaks and renders. According to the previous leaks, the OnePlus 7 will sport a full HD+ display featuring an AMOLED / Super Optic panel with the latest generation in-screen fingerprint sensor. It will house a 7nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 with 6GB RAM on the base variant. Leaks have revealed that the top-end model this time will have 10GB of RAM, the same as the McLaren Edition OnePlus 6T.
It will run the latest OxygenOS based on Android 9 Pie. It is speculated that OnePlus 7 will draw power from a 4,150 mAh battery with support for the proprietary Warp Charging technology from the company. While there is no final launch date, a recent leak suggested that both the smartphones will be launched globally on May 14. So, we can expect an Indian launch a day after on May 15 and made available on Amazon India soon going by OnePlus’s track record. As for pricing, the base variant is rumored to be priced at Rs 39,990. With less than a month from the expected launch date, we guess we will find out soon.
Redmi Y3 to Launch in India on April 24th
It has been seven months since the launched of Redmi Y2. Xiaomi today announced that it will launch its successor Redmi Y3 next week on April 24. Y just selfies, Y not #32MPSuperSelfies? Revealing on the 24-04-2019😎
— Mi India (@XiaomiIndia) April 15, 2019
Redmi India sent out a tweet confirming that it would launch the Redmi Y-series on April 24. It also sent out media invites that states the Redmi Y-series’ launch event will start at 12:00 PM IST. The invite has the hashtag “#32MPSuperSelfie” indicating that the new Y-series USP will be a 32MP front sensor. It makes sense as its predecessors Redmi Y1 and Redmi Y2 were selfie centric phones. Further, the teaser reveals the device will sport a Redmi Note 7 style notch. We expect the Redmi Y3 to have AI features.
After it is launched, the Redmi Y3 will become the highest resolution selfie camera phone from Xiaomi. The current record is held by the Mi Mix 3 with a 24MP camera while the Mi 9 comes with a 20MP sensor. Also, the phone might be an entirely new phone unlike the Redmi Y2 and Redmi Y1 which are actually rebranded Redmi S2 and Redmi Note 5A respectively.
As for the specs, the Redmi Y3 will sport a Samsung’s 32-megapixel ISOCELL Bright GD1 image sensor. The sensor which was first announced in October last year and uses Quad-Bayer layer technology to capture good images. The handset will also likely to be backed by a large battery that will last longer. Though there is nothing mentioned in the teasers, rumors suggest that it could come with a massive 4,000 mAh battery.
Other specs of the Redmi Y3 are unknown as of now but we expect a leak before the official launch event. Some fans might be hoping for the Mi A3 as well but Xiaomi India clearly denied it in various Twitter conversations.
