Coolpad Cool 2 Goes Official, Comes with FHD+ display and dual rear cameras

coolpad cool 1

Coolpad has launched a couple of devices in the past. They have a tendency to launch devices at a slower rate compared to its competitors. The Chinese smartphone maker had launched Coolpad Cool 1 which received a price cut a few months ago.  Now it is all set to launch the Coolpad Cool 2 which is a spec bump from the previous generation device.

The company had introduced the Cool series as a joint venture between Coolpad and LeEco, which had been facing a financial crisis and is down at the moment. So it is not sure if they had any role in the launch of this device. Earlier, there were reports stating that Coolpad has plans to re-enter Indian and US markets by slowly stopping to concentrate in its homeland which is highly competitive with a wide range of devices.

Talking about the specifications of the device, the device packs a 5.7 inch LCD display. It comes with the market-trend 18:9 aspect ratio as expected. The display resolution is 1440 x 720 pixels. There is 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB onboard storage which is further expandable with the help of a micro SD-card. The fingerprint scanner is present at the back. The device lacks physical navigation buttons and hence on-screen navigation bars have been included.

The device is powered by MediaTek MT6750 chipset which performs decent enough. Sadly, it still runs on Android 7.0 Nougat with the company’s own UI. The cameras are stacked vertically. At the back, there is a primary 13MP shooter and secondary 0.3MP camera. The front sports an 8MP camera for decent selfies. The battery included is a 3,200 mAh one with no support for quick charging.
