Chinese smartphone maker Coolpad has announced its latest device, the Coolpad 8 in China. The rear of the handset is made of 3D glass with a metallic frame. The display on the Coolpad 8 is a 6.26-inch InCell IPS Full HD+ LCD display with 2246 x 1080 pixel resolution. There is a huge notch on the front which resembles the one seen on the Apple iPhone X.
Under the hood, the handset runs on MediaTek MT6750 chipset. It is coupled with 4 GB of RAM and packs 64 GB of internal storage. In terms of camera, there will be a vertically stacked dual rear cameras with 16 MP + 2 MP sensors. The LED flash is mounted between the two sensors. As far as the front cameras are concerned, it comes with an 8 MP sensor.
There will be a massive 4,000 mAh battery powering the device. In addition to it, the handset supports fast charging through USB-C which claims to completely charge the handset in 120 minutes. The handset will run on Cool UI 9.0 skin although the Android version used remains unknown. The other features of the Coolpad 8 include dual-SIM support, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and 3.5mm audio jack.
The fingerprint sensor is mounted on the rear side of the device. The sales for the Coolpad 8 will commence from 10 AM of December 21 on Jing Dong Mall. There will be two color variants – Streamer Ash (Black) and Bright Red to choose from with a price tag of 999 Yuan(₹10,000). As of now, there is no information about the availability of the handset in other markets. Stay tuned for further updates regarding that.
