Apple iPhone 11 spotted on GeekBench, Powered by A12 & 4GB RAM!

Published

on

Apple is reportedly said to launch three new iPhones this year, in September. Thanks to the previous leaks and renders, we are already familiar with all three of them including a standard 5.8-inch iPhone X 2018, an affordable 6.1-inch LCD model and a larger model with a 6.5-inch OLED panel. Now, a benchmark report from GeekBench reveals one of these three upcoming iPhones.

The Geekbench listing indicates that the new iPhone will be powered by a hexacore “D321AP” processor clocked at 2.49GHz i.e. a successor to the A11 Bionic Chip (D22AP) powering previous year iPhones. Most probably, this should be the new A12 chip. This time, the RAM is upgraded to 4GB, from 3GB on previous gen iPhone X.

Coming to the benchmarks, the new iPhone scores 4,673 in the single-core test and 10,912 in multi-core test which is not a major upgrade though, given that the previous iPhone X scored 4,206 and 10,128 in single and multi-core tests, respectively.

The listing mentions the device’s model number as “iPhone11,2”, insinuating at the possibility of this to be named as iPhone 11, instead of iPhone X 2018 or the iPhone X Plus. Though we cannot trust this naming factor completely, we can’t ignore it either due to the fact that the GeekBench listing during the leaks of iPhone X carried the model name as “iPhone 10,5”.

As expected, the device will run on iOS 12. Further, we don’t see any other information about specifications. Also, there is no mention about the which variant is this, the one with an LCD panel or one of the two OLED versions. As of now, its really hard to reach any conclusion. Let’s wait for upcoming leaks to know more about the new iPhones. Till then, Stay tuned for more updates.
