Alcatel has officially announced its first ever smartphone running Android Oreo Go in India. Though the company has not yet reveled the official price we will see get to see the price soon.
If you have no idea regarding the Android Go Edition phones, these are basically the devices which come with the light-weight version of Android Oreo and all these smartphones basically come with 1GB of RAM.
The Alcatel 1 series devices have been recently launched at the MWC 2018 and the company is now also planning to launch the 5 and the 3 series smartphones. Surprisingly the Alcatel 1x sports a 5.34-inch display which comes with the 18:9 aspect ratio and a resolution of 480*960 pixels. Talking about some dedicated apps, this device comes with customized apps such as the Google Go, Google Maps, and also the YouTube Go which have been specifically developed for the Android Go devices so they consume a lot lesser storage and also performs well with lower specs.
This 4G LTE device has been powered by the MediaTek MT6739 processor and is coupled with 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, and if you think that you are in need of more storage, then you can just slide in a micro SD card. Talking about some pixels, the device comes with a 13MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera to capture some decent selfies. This device has been backed by 2,460 mAh of battery and it would be really interesting to see how does the device perform with this lighter version of Android and optimized apps.
Praveen Valecha, Regional Director, Alcatel India had this to say regarding the launch of the phone:
“For nearly 20 years Alcatel has been a leader at delivering high quality, premium mobile technology experiences that are accessible to consumers around the world, with this launch we will enable many consumers to upgrade to a 4G Smartphone”.
